What We Are Learning 

3rd Grade

This week the spelling focus is on words with the vowel digraphs ow and ou. We completed the last Wordly Wise lesson and will spend the remainder of the year reviewing the 150 words we learned! In Progress, we are working on the 3-day Performance Task, which will assess all of the reading skills we have learned in 3rd grade so far. In celebration of Women's History Month, the scholars are reading ReadWorks articles about important women in early American history. We finished Charlotte's Web and will begin Charlie and the Chocolate Factory soon.

4th Grade

This week the spelling focus is on words with the /aw/ sound spelled al, ough, o, au, and aw. We are on Lesson 17 in Wordly Wise. Three more lessons to go! In Progress, we are working on the 3-day Performance Task, which will assess all of the reading skills we have learned in 4th grade so far. In celebration of Women's History Month, the scholars are reading ReadWorks articles about important women scientists. We finished Island of the Blue Dolphins and will begin By the Great Horn Spoon! soon.
